ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ನಂ.42 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಜೇಂದ್ರಗಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಗದಗದಿಂದ 57 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಹಾಗೂ ತಾಲೂಕೂ ಕೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಥಾನ ರೋಣದಿಂದ ನರಗುಂದ-ಸಿಂಧನೂರ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ನಂ.30 ರಲ್ಲಿ 27 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲೂ 80 ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಗಜೇಂದ್ರಗಡ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಒಟ್ಟು 18.89 ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮೀ ವಿಸ್ತಾರ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. 2001ರ ಜನಗಣತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ 28227 ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರತಿ ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮೀ.ಗೆ 3136 ಗಳಷ್ಟು ಜನಸಾಂದ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು 2001ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡಗಳ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಶೇ. 18 ರಷ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಶೇ. 7 ರಷ್ಟು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಪಟ್ಣವು ಔದ್ಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಉದ್ದಿಮೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಕಾಲಕಾಲೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅನತಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ವರ್ಗೀಕೃತ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೃಷಿಯು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಒಣಬೇಸಾಯಯದಿಂದ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬೀಜ ಮತ್ತು ಹತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಯಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ 9ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಗಿರಣಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ 25 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೈಮಗ್ಗ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ಥಳಿಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಗಿರಣಿಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಮಗ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಶೇ.90 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವತಃ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ನಿರತರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉಳಿದವರು ಸರಕಾರಿ/ಅರೆಸರಕಾರಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Gajendragad is the Town Municipal area under Gadag District. It is located on state highway No.42 at about 57 Kms. from Gadag city and at about 27Kms from its Taluka HQ: Ron. The town serves the nearby villages and in an important Commercial Town. The town is not linked with railway line. Gajendragad is a commericial town having a total area of 18.89 sq.Kms and having population about 28,227 as per 2001 census with density of 3136 persons per Sq.Km. The component of Schedule Cast (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST) population of the town is 18% and 7% respectively as per 2000 census. It has a strong industrial base also engaging about 33% of the work force. In view of religious, Gajendragad has famous historical temples like Kalakaleshwar Temple. The town thus can be classified as Mandi cum Industrial town. The town being Mandi Town having a vast agricultural hinter land producing oil seeds and cotton. The availability of these products locally has helped to establishment of industrial units which are mainly enganged in oil extraction and handloom activities. There are 9 oil mills engaged and 25 handloom units. Obtained 10% of the work force from outside of the town while 90% of the work force is from the town itself.

Gajendragarh is located at 15°44′N 75°59′E / 15.73, 75.98 It has an average elevation of 643 metres (2109 ).
Demographics :
As of 2001India Gajendragarh had a population of 28,227. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Gajendragarh has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 51%. In Gajendragarh, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
ಗಜೇಂದ್ರಗಡ ಪುರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ 23 ವಾರ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 36 ಬ್ಲಾಕ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸದರಿ ಬ್ಲಾಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 11312 ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ, ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕರಿಸಿ ಎಂ.ಆರ್.ಸಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ಕ್ರಮ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಗರೀಕರು ತಮಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಆನಲೈನ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ.
In Gajendragad TMC out of 23 wards, 36 Blocks have been created, from those blocks 11312 properties have been identified, collected details & computerisation of records is completed. The information has been sent to MRC, B'lore for further action. Soon citizens can avail this facility to pay online property tax shortly.
